While on my Thanksgiving vacation, I wanted to create an abstract painting inspired by the Palo Duro Canyon mountain range. I decided to paint it entirely from memory, attempting to capture it in a style reminiscent of Georgia O’Keeffe. I was inspired by many of the works she did while in Canyon and my art professor mentioned that she once was an educator of art in this same department (1916-1918).
In this image, I wanted to visualize the Palo Duro Canyon mountain range using watercolor.
