During my exploratory walks in various neighborhoods of San Francisco, I observed a stark contrast between areas where renting was prevalent. In certain neighborhoods, the presence of trees and grass seemed scarce, while in others, expansive parks dotted the local landscape. It became apparent that those neighborhoods lacking abundant greenery often compensated by featuring a solitary tree as a centerpiece within a courtyard, serving as a focal point for the apartments facing the windows. This disparity between the availability of green spaces and the human longing for a connection with nature was noticeably different from my previous home in Los Angeles.
In this image, my intention was to visually capture the striking imbalance between nature and man-made objects.
