Fire in the Sky

On the Fourth of July in 2016, I headed towards downtown Austin with the intention of capturing experimental long-exposure photographs of the fireworks display. I camped over the 1st street bridge careful to position myself as close to the vibrant bursts of light as possible.
In this image, I wanted to visually capture the raw energy behind the exact moment when a firework would burst over the downtown skyline.
