Reflections on a Currant Sunset

During one of my early mornings after transitioning from a car to a bicycle, I found myself crossing the 1st Street Bridge in Austin, Texas. To my delight, I witnessed rowers from the nearby Austin Rowing Club creating rhythmic waves that danced across the surface of Lady Bird Lake.

In this image, my intention was to capture the reflective qualities of the water as the sun set on the horizon. The act of cycling instead of driving allowed me to experience a shift in perspective during my commute, enabling me to see the city of Austin in a whole new light. By depicting the serene scene of the rowers and the shimmering water, I sought to convey the transformative power of alternative modes of transportation and the beauty that can be discovered when we embrace new perspectives.
