Morning Light

I loved finding backwoods hiking trails throughout the Barton Creek greenbelt in Austin Texas. My favorite time to hike was winter mornings when morning dew would cover everything in sheets of ice and nothing would move. I saw this view while hiking and getting a glimpse of the sunrise bursting through the dense foliage.

In this painting, I wanted to capture the essence of that awe-inspiring moment when the golden amber-light of the sunrise bathes the scene, illuminating the surrounding darkness with its gentle touch. I sought to convey the magical transition as the light triumphantly burned away the shadows, casting a warm glow upon the natural landscape. Through this artwork, I aimed to evoke the sense of wonder and tranquility experienced in witnessing the dawning of a new day amidst the beauty of the Barton Creek greenbelt.
