Diagonal intersections, a common feature in many urban areas of California, were a novelty to me as a Texan. Witnessing the seemingly seamless coordination between humanity, the traffic system, and cars taking turns to cross these intersections every 15 seconds was truly captivating.

In this image, my aim was to visually convey the concept of large-scale cohabitation as a metaphor for the evolution of human nature. It portrays a multitude of strangers crossing an intersection in front of the Santa Monica pier on March 7th, 2020, representing the diverse array of individuals coming together in a shared space.
