Having recently relocated to Beverly Hills, one of the most awe-inspiring sights that greeted me was the abundance of magnificent ficus and palm trees adorning the landscape. Amongst them, the grandest and most ancient tree proudly stood at the heart of Beverly Gardens Park, once known as Rancho Rodeo de Las Aguas. Coming from the panhandle of Texas, where towering and aged trees were a rarity, the sight of these majestic giants left a lasting impression. It was easy to overlook the fact that just over a century ago, the surrounding community was primarily farmland.

In this image, my aim was to convey the city’s remarkable growth and transformation by capturing the branches of this majestic tree, symbolizing the city’s expanding presence and flourishing development.
