I embarked on a on a cross-country tour of the southwest United States gathering several bags, collectibles, and knickknacks I left behind in the move between Texas and California. Because of the pandemic, most of the cities I traveled through had varying and sometime bizarre COVID policies sometimes from city to city. While resting in Phoenix, I looked for a good place to see a sunset and found that the nearby botanical gardens was open as long as I wore a mask and maintained social distancing rules.

In this image, I wanted to highlight the striking silhouetted colors and textures that are created when the sun was sets in the high desert landscape.  The title of this image is also a reference to the movie, I Heart Huckabees” (2004).
