Light at the Museum

From: $500

Mixed Media, 2019
20 x 26.5″

This artwork draws inspiration from my visit to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA). The museum’s entrances, with their smooth curves, minimalist design, and abundant natural light, made a lasting impact on me, highlighting their deliberate creation of a calm and relaxing atmosphere. While painting this piece, I was exploring the ultraviolet and gamma color spectrums.

My aim was to push the boundaries of the medium, achieving maximum brightness and intensity on surfaces like canvas or metallic textures. I also experimented with printing on absorbent metallic surfaces, striving to create artworks that could emit the same light even in low-light environments.
