Diagonal intersections, a common feature in many urban areas of California, were a novelty to me as a Texan. Witnessing the seemingly seamless coordination between humanity, the traffic system, and cars taking turns to cross these intersections every 15 seconds was truly captivating.
In this image, I wanted to visually convey the concept of large-scale cohabitation as a metaphor for the evolution of human nature. It portrays a multitude of strangers crossing an intersection in front of the Santa Monica pier on March 7th, 2020, representing the diverse array of individuals coming together in a shared space.
