In this image, my intention was to capture the transformative moment when a gust of wind would provide temporary relief to a crowd at the Austin City Limits Festival. Because of the lack of shade and the amount of people eating their lunch at the festival, I sough the shadow of a flag as a place to eat and people-watch.
To create this artwork, I utilized a time-lapse photo consisting of multiple images, blending them together to convey the sense of movement and transformation. By sampling and merging various movements, I aimed to depict the collective experience of the crowd as the breeze passed.
